Nisbets – the UK's Leading Catering Equipment Supplier (nisbets.co.uk)

Nisbets is the UK's largest supplier of catering equipment and hospitality supplies, serving restaurants, cafés, pubs, hotels, schools and care homes. The company was founded in 1983 in Bristol by Andrew Nisbet, originally selling knives, chef's clothing and textbooks to catering students. It launched its first mail-order catalogue in 1987, moved into wholesale in 1990 and has since grown into an international business operating across the UK, Ireland, Northern Europe and Australasia. In 2024, Bunzl acquired an 80% stake in a deal valuing Nisbets at over £500 million. Today nisbets.co.uk lists over 40,000 products, backed by a network of UK stores, including the National Catering Equipment Centre flagship showroom, and free next day delivery on most lines.

Q4 Is the Best Time to Buy Catering Equipment – Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas Deals

For hospitality businesses, the last months of the year are when the best catering equipment deals tend to appear. Nisbets' promotional calendar typically builds through Q4:

1. Autumn clearance (September–October): end-of-season clearance with savings of up to 70% on selected lines, plus monthly offers and price drops on popular appliances
2. Nisbets Black Friday sale (November): Nisbets has run large Black Friday events with hundreds of discounted products across appliances, tableware and kitchenware, including 24-hour "Deal of the Day" offers
3. Cyber Monday: historically used to launch a fresh wave of online offers after the Black Friday weekend
4. Christmas trading preparation: the festive party season is the busiest period for many restaurants and pubs, so Q4 is the natural moment to upgrade refrigeration, add serving capacity, restock crockery and glassware, and replace worn chef clothing before December
5. Year-end equipment budgets: businesses with a December year end often use remaining budget before closing their accounts. Under UK rules, qualifying plant and machinery may be eligible for the Annual Investment Allowance, so check with your accountant how timing affects your tax position

Tip: create a Nisbets account and join the email list in October, because Black Friday stock on popular lines is often limited.

Nisbets Discount Codes and Voucher Codes – Check Picodi.com

Nisbets offers several ways to save beyond seasonal sales: the Clearance and Special Offers section, personalised voucher codes for new and returning customers (such as 10% or 20% off your next order), the Nisbets Rewards scheme and category promotions on brands like Buffalo. Current Nisbets discount codes, including Black Friday and Christmas offers, are collected at Picodi.com. Enter the code in your basket at checkout on nisbets.co.uk, and check the terms: most codes have a minimum spend, expiry date or brand exclusions and may not combine with clearance prices.

Delivery, Returns and Stores

Delivery: free next day delivery is available on most lines for orders placed by 6pm (check the Nisbets delivery page for current thresholds and postcode exclusions). Heavy equipment is delivered by a specialist team, and installation services are available for selected appliances.

Returns: the 30-day money back guarantee covers eligible products, with free returns submitted online.

Stores: Nisbets operates catering equipment stores across the UK with stock checkers online, plus the National Catering Equipment Centre showroom. Customer service: 0117 330 0355.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nisbets

When is the Nisbets Black Friday sale?

Nisbets' Black Friday sale usually runs in late November around Black Friday weekend and leads into Cyber Monday. Exact dates change each year, so check nisbets.co.uk and Picodi.com from early November for the current event.

Can anyone buy from Nisbets, or is it trade only?

Both. Nisbets serves trade customers such as restaurants and hotels, but members of the public can also buy online or in store. The inc/ex VAT price switch makes it easy for both groups to see the relevant price.

Is Nisbets cheaper than other catering suppliers?

Nisbets is competitively priced, especially on own brands like Buffalo, Polar and Olympia, and its Price Match Promise covers qualifying products found cheaper elsewhere. The biggest savings are usually during Q4 sales, Black Friday and clearance events.

Should I buy commercial kitchen equipment before Christmas?

If you run a hospitality business, buying in October or November lets you install and test equipment before the December rush, often at Black Friday prices. Waiting until December risks limited stock and less time to fix problems before your busiest trading weeks.
