Exchange and Return Policy

Roots will gladly exchange or refund qualified items purchased up to 30 days after the purchase date with an original receipt. Items must be in their original state: unwashed, unworn, unaltered and must have all tickets attached. Not applicable on final sale items.

FINAL SALE MERCHANDISE - No refunds, credits or exchanges on the following:

• Any items ending in $0.87 or $0.98
• Any sale item included in an additional percentage off promotion
• Custom or personalized orders
• Gift cards
• Jewellery
• Swimwear
• Limited edition
• Masks
• Charitable items

Online purchases made on Roots.com or Shipped from Store merchandise may be returned by mail with an original receipt within 30 days after receiving the package. Exchanges by mail are not currently processed. Items returned to a Roots store location must be done within 30 days of reopening, with all returned merchandise being refunded in the original form of payment.

Merchandise originally paid for by alternate tenders (i.e. Gift Certificates etc.) other than cash, debit, or credit card will receive an exchange or refund in the form of a store credit onto a Roots Gift Card. Cash will not be issued.

All returns and price adjustments are subject to validation and approval at Roots' discretion. To protect customers from fraudulent activity, Roots reserves the right to request valid photo ID for the purposes of validating customer information when processing a return or exchange.

HOW TO RETURN OR EXCHANGE IN-STORE PURCHASES
Qualifying in-store purchased items can be returned or exchanged up to 30 days after the original purchase date with proof of purchase and if they are in their original state: unwashed, unworn, unaltered and have all tickets attached. Returns of items purchased in a Roots Store location cannot be processed by mail.

HOW TO RETURN ONLINE OR SHIPPED PURCHASES

• RETURN TO A ROOTS STORE: Purchases made on Roots.com or orders placed in a Roots location and shipped can be returned or exchanged at a Roots store in Canada or the US within 30 days of received shipment, with a valid order number or confirmation email.
• RETURN BY MAIL: Online or shipped purchases must be initiated for return by mail within 30 days of received shipment.

  HOW TO RETURN A GIFT

  • With Original Receipt: Refund to the original method of payment.
  • With Gift Receipt: Exchange or store credit for the value paid onto a Roots Gift Card, within 30 days of purchase. Cash is not issued.
  • Without Receipt: Contact the Customer Service Team for more information.

  REFUNDS FOR ORDERS PLACED WITH CREDIT CARD, ROOTS GIFT CARD, PAYPAL, APPLE PAY, MASTERPASS, VISA CHECKOUT, OR HAPPY CARDS

  • Credit to the original method of payment and for Roots Gift Card purchases onto a new gift card will occur upon processing.
  • Refunds to PayPal, ApplePay, MasterPass, VISA Checkout will go back to the respective account.

  2. Enter the 16-Digit Card number in the credit card field.
  3. For billing address, use the shipping address.
  4. To cover balances exceeding the card's value, a Gift Card or eGift Card is required.
  5. The Card is redeemable only at merchants featured on the card's face.
  6. No fee is associated with the card.
  7. To check the balance, call 1 866-907-0850.
  8. Funds on the cards do not expire. For cards past the valid thru date, a no-cost replacement card can be obtained by calling the number provided.
  9. Happy Cards cannot be reloaded and are not replaceable if lost or stolen.
