Functional nutrition and probiotic technology in Pooch & Mutt formulas

One of the key differentiators of Pooch & Mutt is its focus on the connection between gut health, mood and overall canine wellbeing. Several recipes include probiotic strains such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Enterococcus Faecium SF68, ingredients often associated with digestive balance and immune support. Unlike standard supermarket dog food, the brand integrates active wellness ingredients directly into treats and kibble formulations.

The company also emphasises “junk-free” recipes without artificial preservatives or unnecessary fillers. Functional ingredients vary depending on the product line and may include:

• Chamomile and valerian root for calming support
• Collagen for skin and coat maintenance
• Hemp and L-tryptophan for relaxation
• Pumpkin and probiotics for digestion
• Fish oils, zinc and biotin for skin barrier support

Who should choose Pooch & Mutt dog food?

Pooch & Mutt products are designed for owners who want more than standard dog nutrition. The brand is particularly suitable for:

• Dogs with sensitive stomachs or irregular digestion
• Pets prone to itching, shedding or skin irritation
• Anxious dogs affected by travel, fireworks or separation stress
• Senior dogs needing joint and mobility support
• Owners seeking grain-free or hypoallergenic dog food in the UK

Compared with many mass-market dog food brands, Pooch & Mutt focuses more heavily on behavioural wellbeing and condition-specific nutrition rather than generic “all dogs” formulas.
