Delivery costs in Jumia Algeria

Shipping Cost Contribution at Jumia Algeria is a mandatory fee that applies to each order that is successfully delivered to the customer. It is important to note that this fee is calculated at the item level, regardless of the number of items in the order.

• The fee varies depending on the categorization of each item in an order. For instance, in a scenario where an order contains multiple fashion items and small-sized products, the shipping fee will apply to each item individually based on its own categorization.
• Different tiers exist for calculating the Shipping Cost Contribution fee, and these are,Fashion Products, FMCG and Selected Baby & Beauty, Small-sized, Medium-sized, and Large-sized products.
• To determine the applicable tier and associated fee for a product, vendors need to visit a designated page on Jumia's platform and select their product's main category and subcategories. This process reveals which tier a product falls under and how much the processing fee will be.

The fee structure is further divided based on the operations module with specific reference to:

• Drop-shipping, where vendors are responsible for the delivery of products.
• Jumia Express, which involves products stored at Jumia's warehouse. The shipping cost for items stored at Jumia's facility is typically lower.

The Shipping Cost Contribution fee is only applied when an order is successfully delivered to a customer. This fee is then deducted from the vendor's weekly account statement under the 'Orders' section and tagged as Shipping Cost Contribution Fees.
